City of Elgin Image Award Event March 19

Elgin’s Image Advisory Commission is hosting its prestigious Image Awards event, which annually recognizes individuals, businesses and organizations that have had a positive impact on Elgin. The Image Awards will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 in The Centre’s Heritage Ballroom (100 Symphony Way, Elgin).  The event is free and open to the public. Please call 847.931.5598 to register to attend the event.

In addition to the award winners, all 28 nominees from this year’s program will be recognized at the event. Nominees were named in five categories: Individual/Professional, Individual/Volunteer, Organization/Business, Project and Citizenship. Please note the categories are used as a guide. The Image Commission reserves the right to give out awards at its discretion; therefore, awards may or may not be given out in each category.

This year’s nominees in the Individual/Professional category are: Mark Carriveau, Jerry Cook, Reverend Dr. Nathaniel Edmond, Linda Haight, Lisa LaForge, Ronald (Mr. Cheaps) Weiner and Pastor Mark Weinert.

In the Individual/Volunteer category, the following nominees are: Bob Pleticha, Charlene Sligting, Jeffery B. Small and Joseph M. Wars.

Nominees in the Organization/Business category are: Elgin Hispanic Network, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Elgin Young Professional Network, Hope Fair Housing Center, Organizacion Mexicana de Elgin and Sammy’s Mexican Grill & Bar.

Project category nominees are: A Salute to Elgin Veterans, Elgin Public House Golf Outing, Elgin Windmill Project, Food for Fines Drive, Fringe Festival, Neighborhood Works Day, Nightmare on Chicago Street, Leap Summer Camp, Wing Mansion History Wall and World Leaders Forum.

This year’s nominee in the Citizenship category is Elinor Richoz.
