Local folk music group, Fox River Trio, who performed at last year's Community Thanksgiving Luncheon, has released their first CD. Comprised of Steve Stuaffacher, Paris Donehoo, Beth Iverson, and John “the band” Kauffman (yes, that is four, but they were never good at math), the group plays new songs, old songs, funny songs, and original songs with their own unique blend of acoustic instruments and tight harmonies. 

The CD contains classic tunes like Stephen Foster’s “Hard Times,” the group’s own arrangement of the Lennon/McCartney classic “In My Life,” an a cappella rendition of James Taylor’s “That Lonesome Road,” as well music by Gordon Lightfoot, Terence Martin, Harry Chapin, Peter Yarrow, and others. “My Wife Can’t Stand the Parsonage Blues” is Donehoo’s comical composition about life in church-provided housing. Recorded at LNL Studio in Elgin, the cost of the CD is $10 and may be purchased by contacting the group at 847-800-8446 or foxrivertrio@wowway.com. For more information about the group, check out their Facebook page.
